Almost every wedding has it: the wedding guest book. While this classic is a nice keepsake, during the party many guests find it hard to think of something truly heartfelt or even well composed, and let’s be honest, this keepsake will most likely collect dust very soon. So why not a guest book that actually has a use besides reminding you of the most wonderful day in your life? This is a great project for a family member to prepare in advance and it makes a fantastic present from everybody who wants to participate: the wedding cook book. Instead of writing down a quick sentence or two after a few glasses of wine, guests are asked to prepare a page with their favorite recipe. They can either just print it out, or decorate it however they like. This way everybody contributes something personal, and the newly weds will remember each friend or family member when they try out their recipes. Of course this requires a certain amount of foresight, and the organizing friend needs to collect all recipes in time to get them bound, but the final result is a keepsake that will stay out in the open and will become a part of day to day life.
